BASIC B.Sc. (Nursing)
This
course today has an intake of 60 students per year. Recognized both in
India and abroad, this programme is aimed to develop competent and
professional nursing practitioners who are pro-active and responsible
both in clinical and teaching set up.

ADMISSION REQUIREMENTS

Eligibility:
1.
Pass in PUC / PDC (10+2) or passed any other examination conducted by
boards/councils/Intermediate Education established by state
Govt./Central Govt. with English as one of the subject and Physics,
Chemistry & Biology as optional subjects.
2. Passed subjects of
English, Physics, Chemistry and Biology individually and must have
obtained a minimum of not less than 50% marks in Physics, Chemistry,
Biology and English (PCBE) taken together in the qualifying examination.
3.
Candidates belonging to SC, ST or other backward classes, the marks
obtained in Physics, Chemistry, Biology and English taken together in
qualifying examination be not less than 45% instead of 50% as above.
5. Completes 17 yrs. of age at the time of admission.
Programme Duration:
Four
years (4 Years), covering intensive theory classes and internship
attending towards for observation and supervised practice.
POST BASIC B.Sc. IN NURSING (PB B.Sc)

ADMISSION REQUIREMENTS

• Mode of Admission: Direct
• Hostel facilities available for Girls.
Eligibility:
1. Hold a diploma in General Nursing & Midwifery (GNM).
2. Be a registered nurse.
3. Have passed pre-university examination in arts/science/commerce conducted
by Department of Pre University Education, Karnataka State or its equivalent
recognized by Rajiv Gandhi University of Health Sciences.
4. Have working knowledge of English
5. Be medically fit.
6. Have good personal and professional record.
7. No Candidate who is above 48 years of age on 31st December of the year of admission shall be eligible.
Programme Duration:
Two
academic years from the date of commencement of the program. Terms and
vacations shall be as notified by the university from time to time.
Note:
The Candidate should have minimum 80% attendance in theory and 100%
attendance in practical in each subject to appear for the University
examination.
M.Sc. IN NURSING
Admissions open for the academic year 2012-2013
ADMISSION REQUIREMENTS
INTAKE: 25 seats
Mode of Admission: Direct, Through Entrance Test & Interview
Hostel facilities available.
Eligibility:
1.
Passed in BSc Nursing (Basic) or Post Basic B.Sc. Nursing or Post
Certificate BSc Nursing of RGUHS or any other University accepted as
equivalent by RGUHS and must have obtained a minimum of not less than
55% aggregate marks. In respect of candidates belonging to SC and ST,
the aggregate marks obtained be not less than 50% instead of 55% as
above.
2. Minimum of one year of experience after obtaining B.Sc.
Nursing (Basic) or minimum of one year of work experience prior or after
Post Basic B.Sc. Nursing degree or Post Certificate B.Sc. Nursing, in a
hospital or in Nursing Educational Institution which is recognized by
Indian Nursing Council.
3. Registered in any State Nursing Council as a Registered Nurse and Registered Midwife.
4.
Candidates should produce Eligibility Certificate from Rajiv Gandhi
University of Health Sciences, Bangalore, Karnataka. (This applies to
only the candidates who have passed from other universities).
5. Candidate shall be medically fit.
6. Age limit for General Category, it is 48 years and for SC/ST candidates is 50 years at the time of admission.
Programme Duration:

The
Nursing Course programme is a residential one. Separate hostel for male
and female students are provided with adequate sanitary, bathing and
laundry facilities and also the furniture to each student for their
comfortable stay in the hostel, assuring parental care for each student
towards making their hostel life to second home, conducive to healthy
living and learning with enjoyable homely food and has adequate security
system.
Residential accommodation is also provided to the
staff and hostel wardens in the campus within the close proximity of the
students’ hostels.
Their nursing institutions have a system of
administration which will permit them to function as exemplary
educational institutions.
The teaching staffs in the Nursing College
and the Nursing School are appointed to the full complement as per the
prescribed norms of the Indian Nursing Council, under an able,
competent, well-qualified and experienced principal.
There are adequate physical facilities in the institutions.
The students are encouraged and given opportunities for participation in cultural and civic activities.
The
curriculum provides for ample professional experience in all major
clinical areas of nursing in the hospital and in the community.
